

Retail Training @ South East College
In 2016 Retail Training amalgamated with South East College.
Retail Training has over 25 years’ experience delivering certified and bespoke training courses within the retail sector.
In 2007 Retail Training developed the first major FETAC (QQI) award in Retail at Level 4 (Certificate in Retail Skills) and Level 6 (Advanced Certificate in Retail Management). In 2009 RTCL was further contracted to modify the aforementioned awards to suit a Blended Training delivery method and for attendance by un-employed learners. During 2010, 2011, 2012 & 2013 Retail Training was responsible for the curriculum development and assessment design for the following QQI minor Award Modules; Customer Service (level 4 & 5), Payment Processing (levels 3, 4 & 5), Selling Techniques (levels 4 & 5), Stock Control (Level 4), Retail Display (level 5), Retail Administration (level 5) as well as many non-retail modules.
Retail Training participated in the making of the Feargal Quinn Retail Therapy series of TV programmes in 2010 & 2011.
In 2012 Retail Training designed & developed Ireland’s first certified eLearning Courses with City & Guilds. In February 2013, Minister Ciaran Cannon awarded Ireland’s first eLearners with their City & Guilds qualification.
City & Guilds Occupational Qualifications in Retail Studies
These qualifications cover the essential topics that can help advancement in a current role or get a first retail job. Learning topics include areas ranging from customer service to selling to teamwork, merchandising & display, stock control as well as health, safety and security issues.
Learning is delivered via eLearning & Tutor-led Introductory Workshops allowing the learner work at their own pace and in their own time.
In demonstrating the necessary knowledge, understanding and competence, learners will achieve a Level 2 (NFQ Level 4) City & Guilds Qualification in Retail Knowledge. A City & Guilds qualification is proof that you have the right knowledge and skills to do a job well. You can be confident your qualification is well respected within your industry. A City & Guilds qualification is recognised all over the world.
All courses are delivered as Unit-based qualifications. Unit-based qualifications allow the learner choose from studying an Award or a Certificate. In addition, Units can be studied as “stand alone” courses. Learners can complete a general retailing qualification, or can opt for sector-specific; Retail Pharmacy Sector, Retail Home & Hardware Sector.
